Princesses in movies do not suffer from acne. They have beautifully clear and glowing skin. They always have perfect hair, makeup and skin. They wear perfect clothes all the time. I, on the other hand have had horrible acne since I was 10 years old. I am 19 now, so for 9 years I have suffered with acne. I have tried everything in the drugstores, all Clean and Clear products, all neturogena and many more products. I have tried high end brands and even Dermologica which is used in Salons. Nothing has worked and it really is not a fun thing to go through. I also have depression and a lot of it is due to how my skin is and how upset it makes me.
However, it is not for the reason most people think. I am not upset because I feel ugly, or because I feel like appearance is so important. But because it is hard to deal with. Its hard to look at yourself every day and see all this acne on your face. It's upsetting to spend hundreds of dollars a year on skin products in hope that this time they will work. Then it's depressing that I get my hopes up for it to work and it doesn't. every time. It's a cat and mouse game and I am tired of playing. Now if that wasn't bad enough, I cannot wear makeup. So I have acne and cannot even cover it up to make myself feel a little more confident. My skin turns orange no matter what makeup I wear and it irritates my skin. I have spent hundreds on foundations and BB creams for it to not work on me as well. My confidence level has gone down considerably in the past few years, however I do not try and let it affect my mood on a daily basis.
Today I went into Ulta for 2nd time to try and find a solution to my
skin problem. I met a sales associate named Noemi and she was trying to
help me find something. It was the first time ever that someone sat down
and talked to me about my skin and the problems with it. We found a
skin cleanser that targets my skin concerns and are going to test it
out. She gave me her number and is going to be following up with me. I
decided at that time I wanted to document my skin progress, so I figured
why not document it here. Today on July 10th, 2014 I am doing a weekly
update on my skin to see if their is a huge or small or nothing at all
progress. I will also post pics each week to see the differences. So
anyone who is reading this, thanks for coming on the journey with me.
